To Members of the United States Congress,
As I have watched the events unfold with the fall of Wall St., heard or read differing views on the talk shows, news programs,
and in newspapers, there has been a lot said about corruption in the government, but it does not seem to go much further than
that, no specific charges are levied against anyone.
Maybe part of the reason is that you have learned to control the media that they do not have the access to you as they
once did. If they want to get one of on their news program or such, agreements have to be drawn up that they will not ask
you about this or that. Closed door meetings, such as during this economic crisis, makes one wonder what kinds of things are
really going on that the American people are not being made privy to. We hear of the large sums of money being given to you
from companies--such as AIG and Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac--as political contributions, or the lavish gifts or junkets that
you accept from lobbyists seeking to gain your personal favor and bend your ear to their particular purpose.
It is a political game of power and influence that is outside and far above what the average citizen has to their representatives
and is able to partake in unless they happen to be part of the wealthy elite. There are ethics rules you have to live by,
but how much of it is really followed? The American people have to wonder when they see what has transpired in the past months
since the fall of Wall St. and the inauguration of President Obama.
We listen to some of you, and we see what appears to be outward lies being told, or finger-pointing, or outright denials
of any kind of wrong-doing, most notably that done by Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and Ben Bernacke. Illinois Governor
Blagojevich was caught in a scandal over Obama’s former Senate seat. Despite pretty damning evidence in regard to it,
he fought to defend himself fervently about it and how he so desires to serve the people, and do so with the utmost sincerity.
We have come to know otherwise to be the case. If he can act that way, however, how easy is it for any of you to do the same.
We have seen your blatant hypocrisy. You have gotten to where you can tell yourself that lavish trips to France in $500/night
rooms--with your wives--can be taken on the public’s dime, and it will not matter. But it does matter, and it has mattered
that members of Congress have passed huge stimulus bills without even having read or had them debated properly. I would personally
like to see any of you who did that explain your actions to the American people of why you did that and what your thinking
was on it.
We can only suppose that there is a lot more of that going on that we do not see. What we do see is a government that seems
to be out of control and unresponsive to the American people who voted for them. During the election, we saw in one candidate,
a certain Barack Obama, who wants to bring change to Washington and put an end to many of these practices. So far, he does
not seem to be able to do it very well. Maybe things are just too engrained there for him to do so. In fact, it seems to me
he is only using the current status quo there to get his agenda through because he can!
In that way, you are all complicent with him, and the public is angry about it. It is because they see the America they
love no longer being the same. It is being destroyed, and being destroyed not just by Obama, but in your blind allegiance
to him. Why are you doing this? How can you do this? It does not make any sense.
What I think may be happening is that because you are so enamored with Mr. Obama, he is playing you like a fiddle, getting
his own private agenda set up right under your noses because you think he is doing something good for the nation. What makes
me think that is that while he ran as a Democrat, his policies can be against the Democratic party just as much as Republican.
Look to what he is doing in California in letting that state simply fail, and do nothing at all in trying to help it.
But the American people are wising up. They are unto you. And as you all heard during the election, we want CHANGE. Do
you want to see them RISE UP against you? Do you want to be voted out of office in the next election? Make no mistake about
it--they will do that. You will do well to change your ways, and change your ways now, on your own, and maybe you will be
able you will be forgiven.
There is a lot of knowledge there in Washington with those who have been there a long time, of international affairs and
the current system that is still worth something to the American people. Maybe, if you will change your ways, the American
people will have some mercy upon you, but things will have to change there in Washington.
