Ever since I was a young boy, I considered myself something of a fence-sitter. I did not grow up knowing what I
wanted to do, exactly, except that I did have this feeling that I would not really do what I truly wanted until much later
in life.
Well, at the start of the Desert Strorm, this fence-sitter came down off his perch. It was not enough to merely
watch the world go by anymore. What I saw taking place in Iraq was something I knew was going to have a major effect
on the world, and a little while later, it did, when two airlines flew into the World Trade Towers.
I knew from the first day that President Bush announced that we were going to root out those responsible that embarking
on 'The War Against Terror' would be huge mistake. But I was not in a place to be able to do much about it. As
I look back now, I can see how right I was about it.
With this last election, a weary America looked to a young black man who offered them something different, something
better, and an end from the painful misery we all lived with after 9/11. He did speak of change, but told us little
of what kind of change he would bring.
Having watched this young black man, and not just what he tells us, I have had many different ideas about him.
I would like to believe the things that he tells the American people, but his actions have told me something different.
I do not know whether there is any truth to that which I see. But I will share with you those ideas about him because
I feel there is some value in my sharing them. His ideas do offer change, but the question has been "what kind of change
will he bring?"
Change is what America was looking for. Change is what we voted for. And change is what we
got. However, the sad thing is there was nothing to compare it to, except what to what we had before, and at that
point, anything looked better than what we had. Some now are beginning to feel differently about the change that we
were told this young black man would bring. Others still believe in the change he offers.
The problem in America accepting what this young man offered by way of change is that it was his own private
idea of what needed to take place, and some now are feeling that they have no real say in the matter, that their voice
is not being heard, or their ideas considered.
This blog has not been created to merely attack this young black man. It has been created because I
feel what I see in him something different than others, and I want to share those things with you so you may see
things in a different light. I also mean to challenge this young man about his ideas, and later on, share
with you some other ideas I have about how things could be changed.
At least then, the American people will have someone's else ideas for change to compare his to.
I hope you will bookmark this site and come back often to see what new things you will find here. Later on, I intend
to publish a whole different web site that will present the ideas I have in much more detail than what I will be sharing here...
