Welcome to the One Voice In America blog!

This is only one voice in America, among many voices.  The hope here is that it will be one voice that speaks differently, and will be a voice you will find worth listening to.  A lot is happening in America these days, and you will find a lot to read here about it.

You may find some of the opinions rendered by the author of this blog rather different, maybe controversial. However, I can assure you the words written here are ladened, impassioned feelings, but they are not emotional, rash words written hastily. They are written to present a different viewpoint that hopefully will challenge your thinking. It is not meant to offend, but as an American citizen of the United States of America, the author exercises his right to free speech. At a time when it is more popular to be politically correct, the words you find here are direct and look to make a point. To get any statement’s full meaning, it will be important to read the entire passage to see it in its full context and understand its meaning.

Obama and the Olympics

Michele Obama and Oprah took one plane to Copenhagen, and Barack flew on AF1 to make a last minute effort to try to win the 2016 Olympics for Chicago. No doubt, Barack would have been very pleased to have gotten them. I think if he had, we would be seeing him making a speech there during the opening ceremonies and would probably upstage the whole event because is he so popular.

I am glad Chicago did not get the bid. I glad it came in last of the four. We know of the corrupt political machine there. Certain people would stand to make a lot of money with land that would have been used for it. Some of the media wondered if it was such a good idea for Obama to be going over there when there the time could have been spent in his deciding what to do about Afghanistan. We heard that he did have a conversation with General General Mcchrystal, but from the way Obama was talking--of his still having to look at the options and decide what to do--I wonder what the conversation was really about.

I tend to believe that Obama was stalling on having to make his decision. He was doing so because reports were that if he gave Mcchrystal what he wanted, he may have lost some support of some Democrats that could impact the passing of his health care plan. So, I wonder, what did he tell General Mcchrystal? Did he get his troop request? If not, what did Obama tell him? That he would not be able to make his decision until after he got health care passed?

Health care should not precede a war in importance. If it is, it should say something more about where his priorities are at, and that should tell us that as president, he is not leading this nation as he should. His agenda is more important than the defense of this nation, and that should be a concern to all of us--especially when we have had uncovered terrorist plots right here within our borders.

Additionally, we had further reports that unemployment has moved even closer to going over the 10% mark (even though the actual figure is closer to 17% with people who no longer getting unemployment). The economic situation is becoming untenable, and has been for some time despite this administration’s optimistic enthusiasm every time some little thing improves.

Mr. Obama is using this economy to help get his health care bill through. If his stimulus money was used as he made it sound like it would be used--to turn around this economy quickly--we should have seen some kind of improvement in the unemployment numbers. He could have started with the California farmers very easily, but they are still suffering there because the water situation is not because of some little minnow. It is because of other political reasons he does not want public right now. One rumor is that it is because they want to put in a huge solar project there. There is plenty of room in Nevada, right next store.

Obama is stalling to get what he wants, and the American people are suffering because of it. Now he flies off to Copenhagen to argue for the Olympics--for his own vain reasons. Mr. Obama, it is time for you to start doing the right thing, not the vain thing, and focus your energies on getting people back to work again. Forget health care, and any kind of government-run system. It costs too much, and it is something that just has to wait. Act like a real president. Defend this country, and get people back to work!
